Wow! We have had an amazing first term here at Springwell Leeds! Our students are making fantastic progress and we are very proud of all their achievements.
Our first term has been very busy! We had a visit from Reptile Rangers to support our Elements topic Holes, and visits to the Dogs Trust, York Dungeons, The Media Museum, and the Railway Museum to name a few! Our students are making fantastic progress in their vocational learning at the Leeds College of Building, Oils, and more. In school, there has been plenty of activities to support our students’ learning including bike mechanics, food technology and enterprise.
We were very proud to hear that our students were selected to go through to the finals of the Social Innovation Challenge 2016 with Future Learn and Middlesex University. A massive well done to all students involved in this amazing project. To top the icing on the cake, our students had their first Christmas Fair to sell their handcrafted products and they raised an amazing £100 for their chosen charities, The Dogs Trust and Cancer Research UK.
Finally, to celebrate the end of term, our students have been on their reward trips to play snooker, pool and go-karting.
To show a snapshot of our amazing journey so far, this is captured in the video below:
We would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and many thanks for reading our blog! Check back to see what we are doing in 2017!
