New News Reporter at Springwell East!

Good Morning.

Welcome to the Springwell Leeds Blog. I am your presenter, Miss T, and my job at Springwell Leeds East is as a news reporter.

In English, at Springwell, we are currently learning about Stone Cold. Stone Cold is a book about homelessness and it is a very upsetting story. In the story we found out that Shelter is the murderer of Ginger, who is Links, the main characters, best friend and Shelter may have killed more people but we never know for definite. We will tell you more once we have read the rest of the story.

More from Springwell Leeds East site this week. On Friday 19th October one of our class members kindly brought his pet Guinea Pigs in, Nike and Gucci. One of the guinea pigs is an American Guinea Pig and the other is a White Cross Guinea Pig. The Guinea Pigs loved eating hay, and loved cuddles with our class. They are loving little creatures, and I liked them a lot better than cats… and bourbon biscuits!

Also this week, I have given out the first clumsiest teacher award. This week it goes to Mr Mayo. I saw him spill a whole jug of juice all over the floor outside yellow pod. It was so funny. I helped him to clear him up and sort out the mess.

There has also been lots of news out in the community this week. On the 18th October 2018 an elderly man had fallen in his garden near school. Our community hero ran to school to get a member of staff who helped to make sure the man was okay. This incident has been tweeted by Mr Jacques, our executive principal and the whole school was very proud of the young lady who helped.

Thank you all for reading. I hope you have enjoyed my first report as Springwell Leeds East news reporter and I look forward to writing again.

The Hunger Movie – Stop Frame Animation

This week Brandon has been making a stop-frame animation.

First Brandon built his characters and scenes with Lego.  He then used the iPad to film his stop-frame animation.  He used an app called iMotion.  Carefully, he then filmed each scene as a series of frames for his animation film.

Stay tuned as Brandon’s stop frame animation The Hunger Movie will be published on the blog soon!

Below is a picture of Brandon’s Lego characters.
